Product Overview:Product Name: KMC MissingLink Chain Connector Link for 11-Speed ChainsBrand: KMCKMC is a world leader in bicycle chain technology, known for producing durable, high-quality chains and connectors. The MissingLink series is designed to offer a reliable and reusable solution for connecting and maintaining bicycle chains, especially for riders focused on performance.Specifications: Speed Compatibility: 11-SpeedThis MissingLink is specifically designed for 11-speed chains, which are used on modern high-performance road bikes, mountain bikes, and some hybrid bikes. The narrower chain width of 11-speed systems allows for more gears on the cassette, making them ideal for riders who want a wider gear range and precision shifting.11-Speed Systems: The 11-speed drivetrain offers a smooth, responsive shifting experience, popular among competitive cyclists and those who demand high precision and performance. Pin Length: 5.5mmThe 5.5mm pin length is engineered to fit the narrow width of an 11-speed chain, ensuring a secure and precise connection between the chain plates. The narrower pin reduces friction, enhancing the chain's longevity and drivetrain efficiency. This narrow design also helps optimize shifting performance across the full range of gears. Size: 1/2" x 11/128"The standard size of 1/2" pitch (the distance between pins) and 11/128" inner width makes this connector compatible with most 11-speed chains from various manufacturers, ensuring a proper and secure fit for a smooth and efficient drivetrain. Color: ChromeThe link is finished in chrome, offering both aesthetic appeal and functional benefits. The chrome finish enhances the link's resistance to corrosion, making it durable in various weather conditions. The sleek chrome color adds a polished, professional look to any bike. Material: High-Strength SteelMade from strong and durable steel, this link is designed to withstand the forces exerted during intense riding. The steel construction ensures longevity and reliability, making it suitable for high-performance use in demanding environments like road racing, mountain biking, and touring. Finish: Chrome-PlatedThe chrome-plated finish not only gives the connector its distinctive appearance but also provides a high level of corrosion resistance, protecting the link from rust and wear. This ensures that the link remains durable and functional even in harsh conditions like rain, mud, or high humidity.Key Features: Tool-Free Installation and Removal:One of the standout features of KMC’s MissingLink connectors is the ability to install and remove the link without any tools. This feature allows for quick and easy chain repairs or replacements on the go, making it extremely convenient for cyclists who value efficiency and simplicity in maintenance. Reusable Design:Depending on the specific model, KMC offers both reusable and non-reusable versions of the MissingLink. The reusable version allows riders to disconnect and reconnect the chain multiple times, making it perfect for regular maintenance or chain cleaning. Durability:The high-strength steel construction ensures that the link can handle the demands of high-performance cycling, including the forces exerted during pedaling, shifting, and braking. The chrome plating adds extra durability by protecting the link from corrosion and wear. Precision Shifting:The 5.5mm pin and narrow design ensure smooth and precise shifting across the 11-speed drivetrain. This is especially important for competitive riders or those riding in challenging terrains where seamless gear changes are critical.Usage:Chain Compatibility:The KMC MissingLink is compatible with most 11-speed chains, including KMC’s own models and those from other major brands like Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo. This broad compatibility makes it a versatile and reliable choice for cyclists using 11-speed systems on various bike types.Road Bikes:For road cyclists, the MissingLink ensures smooth, precise shifting and efficient performance, making it ideal for high-speed, long-distance rides.Mountain Bikes:Mountain bikers will appreciate the link’s durability and ease of use in rugged environments, where chain maintenance and reliability are crucial.Hybrid Bikes:Hybrid cyclists using 11-speed drivetrains can rely on the MissingLink for everyday commuting or touring, where quick repairs and regular maintenance are important.Installation and Removal:Easy Installation:This MissingLink can be easily connected by hand, without the need for chain tools. Simply insert the two ends of the link into the chain, lock them into place, and you're ready to ride. This tool-free installation is perfect for quick fixes on the road or trail.Quick Removal:When it's time to clean or replace the chain, the MissingLink can be removed just as easily as it was installed, again without the need for special tools. This makes chain maintenance simple and convenient, allowing riders to keep their bikes in optimal condition without extra hassle.Application: Road Bikes:The precision and efficiency of this connector make it an excellent choice for road cyclists who require fast, smooth shifting in competitive or long-distance riding conditions. Mountain Bikes:For mountain bikers, the durable and corrosion-resistant design is perfect for tough off-road environments where mud, water, and dirt can challenge bike components. Hybrid Bikes:Hybrid riders benefit from the convenience of tool-free maintenance, especially for commuting or touring, where reliability and ease of repair are key.Benefits: Corrosion Resistance:The chrome plating offers excellent protection against rust and corrosion, ensuring that the link will remain functional and durable even in wet or humid environments. Tool-Free Convenience:The tool-free installation and removal of the MissingLink save time and effort, making it a practical choice for cyclists who want quick and easy maintenance. Long-Lasting Durability:The steel construction and chrome finish ensure that this connector is built to last, withstanding the rigors of high-performance riding in various conditions. Why do you use your own UPC and not the MFG's UPC? - Using our own UPC's gives us greater influence on the description. Because many of our parts are OE they either do not have a MFG UPC or may differ slightly on what is included. Using a MFG UPC can cause our description to be overridden by a catalog description that may not match what we are selling. Additionally many manufactures use UPC's that start with a 4. Those are not necessarily unique numbers and are not always valid as unique product identifiers outside a store setting. You say over and over to have a qualified mechanic work on my bike. With drive time and gas not many people realize a savings. Our History Before disc brakes, before V-brakes, before suspension forks, around the time the first index shifters that actually worked and the first production mountain bikes hit your LBS, Ben Gibbs started Bennett’s Cycle in St. Louis Park, MN. In the late ‘90’s he sold that shop and started experimenting with online sales. Ben started selling on eBay in ’99, back in the day when your default user ID was your email address. If you wanted to get fancy you could change that to your website URL. That ID (can’t put the name here because it included a URL) was one of the first to exceed 100,000 positive feedbacks. Our Business Philosophy Move as many parts as possible without it being a pain. Just keeping it real. Pulling that off is a bit easier said than done. In order to do that we strive to deliver value to our customers by sourcing quality products at prices that make you ask is that for real? We commit to being honest and fair in our transactions with customers and suppliers. If a dispute arises, if we are at fault, admit it early. We are committed to providing a work environment that recognizes the unique value of each of our employees. And recognize that work, while it consumes much or our time, is only a part of who we are and by being welcoming and accommodating when life spills in. The only slightly unreasonable thing we ask of them is to stay out of our parking spots. Where we are: Crosslake Sales Crosslake, MN 56442 Copyright © Random Bike Parts. All rights reserved.
