7 Speed

General Product Information:Product Name: Sun Race 7-Speed Multiple FreewheelsModel Number: MFM-05Speeds: 7-SpeedDesigned for bicycles with 7-speed friction-based shifting systems, providing a broader gear range for various riding conditions.Detailed Specifications:Gear Range:14-28 Teeth:Smallest Cog (High Gear): 14 teethIdeal for faster speeds on flat or descending terrain.Largest Cog (Low Gear): 28 teethThe 28-tooth cog offers easier pedaling when climbing steep hills or riding over challenging terrain. It helps riders maintain a comfortable cadence even when extra torque is needed. The 14-28t gear ratio provides a versatile range of options suitable for urban commuting, recreational rides, or light touring.Design and Shifting:Friction Shifting:The freewheel is designed for friction shifting systems, where the rider manually adjusts the derailleur without "clicking" into specific gear positions. This offers more control over gear selection and is compatible with older or more straightforward bike setups.Smooth and Reliable: Friction shifting allows for more flexibility in gear selection but requires more manual input from the rider. It’s favored by some cyclists for its simplicity and adaptability to different terrains.Construction:Material and Finish:Black Finish:The freewheel is finished in black, providing a sleek and modern look that also offers basic protection against rust and wear. The color and finish are durable enough to withstand various environmental conditions and resist corrosion.Durable Steel Construction:Made from high-strength steel, ensuring durability and the ability to handle the torque generated during heavy pedaling, especially during climbs or high-speed rides. This material provides strength and reliability for long-term use.Mechanism:Threaded Freewheel Design:The MFM-05 model is a threaded freewheel, which screws onto the rear hub of the bicycle. This is a common design for older and more basic bike setups. It provides a solid connection to the wheel, ensuring stability during rides. This threaded system allows for easy installation and replacement when upgrading or maintaining the drivetrain.Multiple Freewheel:As a 7-speed freewheel, it provides more gear options compared to 5-speed and 6-speed systems, making it ideal for riders who need a broader range of gearing. This is especially useful for managing a variety of riding conditions, including flat terrain, slight inclines, and steeper hills.Performance:Smooth Gear Transitions:Even though it uses a friction-based system, the freewheel allows for smooth and easy gear transitions. This is especially important for riders who prefer more control over their shifting or ride older bicycles without indexed shifting systems.Wide Gear Range:The gear range of 14-28t ensures versatility in terms of pedaling efficiency. The higher gears (14t) are optimized for speed, while the lower gears (28t) help in managing climbs and difficult terrain.Aesthetic and Finish:Color:Black Finish: The all-black finish is not only visually appealing but also practical for reducing visible wear and tear over time. This provides an attractive and understated look while being resistant to corrosion.Compatibility: Bike Types:This freewheel is compatible with a variety of bicycles that use a 7-speed friction drivetrain, such as hybrid bikes, city bikes, mountain bikes, and some touring bikes. It is an excellent option for riders looking to upgrade from a lower-speed drivetrain or replace an existing 7-speed freewheel. Drivetrain:7-Speed Friction Drivetrain: Compatible with friction-based shifters, this freewheel is ideal for riders who prefer a more hands-on approach to shifting. It can work with a variety of derailleur systems that use friction shifting.Brand:Sun Race:Sun Race is a well-known manufacturer of bicycle components, particularly in the freewheel and drivetrain segment. Their products are respected for offering durability and reliability at competitive prices, making them a popular choice for cyclists around the world.
