Brake Pad

Brake SpecificationsDesign: Side-Pull CaliperBrake Type: This brake features a side-pull caliper design, which is a common type of rim brake. It is actuated by pulling a cable that runs from the brake lever to the caliper, causing the brake pads to press against the wheel rim to slow down or stop the bicycle.Max Width: 66mmWidth Capacity: The maximum width this brake can accommodate is 66mm, making it suitable for use with various tire sizes within this range.Reach: 93-92mmReach: The reach of 93-92mm indicates the distance from the center of the brake mounting bolt to the center of the brake pads when they are fully extended. This measurement is important for ensuring proper alignment and contact with the wheel rim.Material: AlloyMaterial: The brake is constructed from alloy, a lightweight and durable material. Alloy brakes provide good strength and resistance to corrosion, enhancing the longevity and performance of the brake.Design: 2 FingerLever Design: The brake is designed to be operated with a 2-finger lever, providing sufficient control and power for braking. This design is ergonomic and commonly used for efficient braking.Clamp: 22.2-23.8mmClamp Diameter: The clamp diameter range of 22.2-23.8mm indicates the size of the handlebar that the brake lever can be attached to. This range covers most standard handlebars, ensuring compatibility.Brand: AltaManufacturer: Alta is a known brand in the bicycle industry, recognized for producing reliable and high-quality bicycle components. Their products are designed to meet the needs of both casual riders and cycling enthusiasts.Additional FeaturesAdjustability: The side-pull caliper design often allows for easy adjustments, making it simple to fine-tune the brake's performance to suit different riding conditions and preferences.Installation: The brake is relatively easy to install and maintain, making it a convenient choice for riders who prefer to perform their own bike maintenance.Performance: The alloy material and 2-finger design provide a good balance of strength and control, ensuring effective braking performance in various conditions.Usage and Maintenance TipsRegular Inspection: Check the brake regularly for signs of wear, especially on the brake pads. Replace the pads if they are worn down to ensure effective braking.Cable Maintenance: Ensure the brake cable is in good condition and properly tensioned. Replace any frayed or stretched cables to maintain optimal performance.Alignment: Regularly check and adjust the alignment of the brake pads to ensure they contact the rim evenly and do not rub when the brake is not engaged.Cleaning: Keep the brake and surrounding area clean from dirt and debris to prevent any hindrance to its operation.
