Chainring Bolts

Specifications Use: Double Ring BoltsSpecially designed for double-chainring configurations, this bolt set ensures that both chainrings are securely attached to the crank arm, supporting more complex gear setups for diverse cycling conditions. These bolts are suitable for road bikes, touring bikes, mountain bikes, and other bicycles that benefit from a wider gear range offered by two front chainrings. Bolt Size: M8 x 8mmThe M8 diameter matches standard double-chainring mounting holes, while the 8mm length is optimized for attaching two chainrings securely, ensuring adequate grip for both rings. The length of 8mm is carefully chosen to provide a snug and reliable fit without any unnecessary protrusion, helping to keep the setup streamlined and secure. Nut Size: M8 x 7mmThe nut length of 7mm provides the necessary depth for double-chainring configurations, ensuring a tight and stable attachment without loosening over time. This size is balanced to fit snugly with the bolt, providing stability while also allowing for easy access when installing or adjusting chainrings. Material: Steel Bolts and NutsConstructed from high-grade steel, these bolts and nuts are built for durability and to withstand the stresses of double-ring setups, where added torque and shifting forces are common.Steel provides excellent resistance to deformation, making these bolts ideal for long-term use and high-intensity riding where reliable component security is essential. Color: ChromeThe chrome finish offers a classic aesthetic that complements most cranksets and chainring designs, while also providing enhanced resistance to rust and corrosion.Chrome plating adds durability to the steel, shielding it from environmental factors like moisture, mud, and salt, which helps maintain both the look and functionality of the bolts over time. Brand: AltaLineAltaLine is recognized for its precision and quality in bicycle components, and this chainring bolt set is no exception. AltaLine's products are trusted for compatibility, durability, and functionality across various cycling disciplines.Compatibility Chainring Compatibility:Designed for double-chainring setups, these bolts are ideal for applications where a wider gear range is desired. They are compatible with most chainring pairs that have standard M8 mounting holes and require double-ring bolts.Suitable for use on bicycles that support front derailleur shifting, such as road, gravel, and some mountain bikes, these bolts facilitate secure shifting and stability across both chainrings. Crank Compatibility:The bolt and nut sizes (M8 x 8mm for bolts, M8 x 7mm for nuts) make this set compatible with cranksets that accommodate double-chainring bolts, particularly on cranks with spider arms designed for two chainrings.Works best with crank arms and chainring pairs that are compatible with 8mm length bolts, typically seen in double-chainring setups.Key BenefitsEnhanced Durability: Made from high-strength steel, these bolts are resilient under high torque and pressure, providing a secure fit for double-chainring setups where consistent performance is essential.Corrosion-Resistant Chrome Finish: The chrome plating protects against rust and corrosion, which extends the lifespan of the bolts, especially for riders in humid or wet climates.Secure for Double Chainrings: With its specialized length and secure threading, this bolt set provides the additional support necessary for double-ring configurations, ensuring chainrings remain securely attached without the risk of loosening.Ease of Installation: Standard M8 sizing allows for straightforward installation with commonly available tools, making it easy to fit the bolts onto the crank and chainring setup.Installation TipsEnsure Proper Torque: Use a torque wrench set to the recommended specification for bicycle chainring bolts to prevent over-tightening or stripping the threads.Apply Anti-Seize Compound: Consider using a small amount of anti-seize compound on the threads before installation to reduce the likelihood of thread binding, which can make removal difficult later on.Check for Compatibility: Verify that both chainrings and the crank arm are compatible with double-chainring bolts of 8mm length, to ensure an exact fit and reliable installation.
