Vintage Tange 1” Threaded Headset Sealed Bearings 90s Road Bike Japan

Both cups that fit into the headset have an external diameter of 30.2 mm. The crown races internal diameter is 26.4 mm. The threads are dirty, but in good working condition on the headset. Both of the bearings feel a bit greedy with one bearing worse than the other. Buyer may need to replace/repack/grease the bearings for the item to function more smoothly. There is some scratches on the lower cup that may prevent the item from functioning 100% smoothly. Please see pictures for condition of the item. Buyer pays nine dollars flat rate shipping for USPS ground advantage.

Vintage 26in MTB Tange Switchblade Forks

First things first, I am not a bike expert in any way. But I can tell you these came off of a salvaged Haro Extreme Comp mountain bike frame from the late 80s/early 90s. Image search helped guide me to these being period correct and sometimes installed on this particular model. These is no discernible stamping or decals but there are heart shaped welding marks near the top of the tubes as shown which are associated with Tange. The threads look clean and weren’t binding when disassembling. Paint is chipped and could use some restoration for your vintage project. The steering tube is 5 inches from the top on the tube to the fork head. I’ll do my best to answer any questions. Thanks for looking!

Tange TX-1200W 1″ threaded, 159mm steer tube (for STING), 20″ old school BMX

Tange TX-1200W chromoly old school BMX re-issue forks for 20" wheel - STING edition   This is a longer steer tube version of the TX-1200W we had made to fit Sting frames. The Sting has a 5" frame headtube and uses a ROAD BIKE headset (not a BMX headset). That leaves 32mm for headset stack height, which just happens to be exactly what the Tange Passage headset has.    So will this work on other 5" headtube BMX frames? Not well. If you look at most BMX spec 1" threaded headset stack heights, you will find they range from 39mm to 45mm. So even if you go with the "shortest" headset, there will still be about 7mm of threads on your locknut that will not engage. Be sure to do all of your measurements and calculations BEFORE ordering as we do not accept returns on items where installation has been attempted (once you hammer a crown race on, the fork is used and you own it).   * Model: TX-1200W STING Edition * Color/Finish: CHROME * Material: Chromoly steel * Headset interface: 1" threaded (1" X 24T) * Steer tube length: 159mm (6 1/4") total length - 52mm of that is threaded * Crown race diameter: 26.4mm * Steer tube inner diameter: 21.1mm * Axle size: 3/8" * Hub spacing: 100mm * Approximate Weight: 2lb 1oz New Tange logo, model number, and manufacturing date (the first batch is stamped April 2021) stamped on the steer tube.
