Dia-Compe 988 Cantilever BMX or MTB bicycle brake caliper – BLACK

Dia-Compe 988 anodized aluminum alloy cantilever brake set for BMX - rear brake with all hardware included. * Color: BLACK ANODIZED * All hardware included (as shown in the 2nd photo) - cable hanger, bridge cable, mounting bolts and washers, and cable end tip * Dia-Compe OPC12 salmon brake pads included (as shown) These are the correct brakes for 1990's mountain bikes with 990 mounts and mid-school BMX race bikes (many bikes used cantilever brakes from about 1993-1996). For MTB, these calipers work for either front or rear.

dia-compe MX-1000 FRONT BRAKE CALIPER AS PICTURED! with SHOES - front has a longer stalk to go thru the fork and have room for a nut. all else is the same. for Potts Mod usage, you will need to modify aka "McGiver" this by grinding / removing the QR Quick Release (QR is not reused) and moving the Adjuster down into the QR place .Then use a normal cable end bolt up top in adjusters place. not for nubes or those with low mechanical skills. also use in rear for frames with x fat tubes like a pierced Haro as the front has the longer bolt. Dia-Compe BMX bicycle brake cable front and rear SET – BLACK

Dia-Compe BMX front and rear brake cable set. You receive one front and one rear inner cable/outer housing with end tips. The housing is teflon lined inside for smooth operation. Color (of outer housing): BLACK (with gold foil embossed branding "BMX Dia-Compe" - see 2nd photo) You will receive: * Quantity 1: Front brake cable with 575mm (22.6") long outer housing and 700mm (27.6") long inner cable * Quantity 1: Rear brake cable with 1175mm (46") long outer housing and 1300mm (51") long inner cable * Quantity 2: aluminum end tip (to prevent fraying of the tip of the inner cable) Please note: Sizing is based on most common race set up for BMX bicycles. Trimming of the housing and inner cable may be necessary to achieve the exact fitment you desire. Regardless, be sure to measure prior to ordering to be sure the housing length is sufficient for your application. THIS FRONT BRAKE CABLE IS TOO SHORT TO BE USED WITH A POTTS MOD.
